The existing Muslim burial grounds in Bangalore South are fully utilized and there is no space for new burials. Residents of areas like Bismillahnagar, Gurappanpalya, B.T.M layout, Lakshmi layout(to name a few) havevery few options left to bury their dead. Therefore, a few motivated and far-sighted residents of these areas have come together and have formed the Bismillah Idgah and Khabrastan Trust (Regd.) with the objective of providing a Muslim burial ground ie. Khabrastan in close proximity to these areas.
The BIK Trust has purchased a total extent of 6 acres of land in Mantapa village, Jigani hobli, Anekal taluk. This land (4 acres in Sy. no. 171 and 2 acres in Sy. no. 171/14) is on Raaghalli Road near Bannerghatta National Park, off Jigani Road. One of our Trustees Mr. Noorul Ameen has donated the adjacent land measuring 2 acres for the Khabrastan. Now, totally we are in possession of 8 acres of land. With valuable contributions from the public, we could establish a unique Khabrastan with all the graves in straight rows and duly numbered as per the computer drawing.
Read MoreInspired by the instruction of Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) to plant a tree after every burial, we decided to raise a fruit garden in the adjacent sprawling vacant land. With the efforts of our Trustee and architect Mr. Sadeer Ahmed Junaidi, more than 200 fruit trees have been planted, some of which have already started yielding fruits. 85 coconut trees, apart from mango, sapota, jackfruit, avocado, papaya, tamarind, guava, pomegranate, fig and lemon plants have been planted. In the boundary of our land, teak saplings have been planted. Planting of trees and raising greenery is our major desire so as to make this institution environmental friendly.
